Tab: Edema associated w/ heart failure including pulmonary edema, renal &, hepatic disorders &, may be effective in patients unresponsive to thiazide diuretics. HTN as monotherapy or w/ other antihypertensives. Management of oliguria due to renal failure or insufficiency. Soln for inj: Edema associated w/ CHF, cirrhosis of the liver &, renal disease including the nephrotic syndrome. Adjunct in the treatment of acute pulmonary edema &, cerebral edema where intense &, rapid onset of diuresis is desired. Adjunct to antihypertensive agents in the treatment of hypertensive crisis (especially when associated w/ acute pulmonary edema or renal failure).

Product Usage

Tab Adult 20-80 mg single daily dose preferably in the morning, may be titrated & given in divided doses every 6-8 hr. Edema Initially 40 mg in the morning. Maintenance: 20-40 mg daily, may be increased to ≥80 mg daily in resistance edema. HTN 40-80 mg daily as monotherapy or w/ other antihypertensives. Childn Initially 2 mg/kg/dose, may be increased by 1-2 mg/kg every 6-8 hr. Max: 6 mg/kg w/ interval of at least 2 hr between doses. Edema Initially 1-3 mg/kg daily. Max: 40 mg daily. HTN Adult dose. Chronic renal impairment Oliguria Initially 250 mg, may be increased in steps of 250 mg every 4-6 hr if necessary. Max: 1.5 g in 24 hr. Soln for inj Inj or infused slowly over 1-2 min at a rate not exceeding 4 mg/min. Adult Edema Initially 20-40 mg IM/iv as single dose, may be administered in the same manner 2 hr later or may be increased by 20 mg & given no sooner than 2 hr after previous dose. Acute pulmonary edema Initially 40 mg by slow IV, may be increased to 80 mg by slow IV. Cerebral edema 20-40 mg tid by slow IV. Hypertensive crisis 40-80 mg IV (w/ other antihypertensive agents). Childn & infant Acute pulmonary edema Initially 1 mg/kg by slow IV/IM. Resistant forms of edema Initially may be increased by 1 mg/kg not every >2 hr. Max: 6 mg/kg. Total max daily dose: 20 mg. Cerebral edema Initially 1 mg/kg by slow IV/IM, may be increased by 1 mg/kg not sooner than 2 hr after previous dose. Max: 6 mg/kg. Total max daily dose: 20 mg.
