Used for the Reduction of LDL-cholesterol, apolipoprotein B, triglycerides, increases HDL-cholesterol in the treatment of hyperlipidemias. Adjunct therapy in patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia who have some LDL-receptor function. Primary prophylaxis of CV events in patients with multiple risk factors.

Each tablet contains 40 mg of Atorvastatin Calcium.

Warnings

Special Precautions: History of liver disease. Consumption of substantial quantities of alcohol. Perform liver function tests prior to and 12 wk following initiation of therapy and periodically thereafter. Rare cases of rhabdomyolysis with acute renal failure secondary to myoglobinuria. Discontinue use if markedly elevated creatine phosphokinase levels occurs or myopathy is diagnosed or suspected. Concomitant use with ketoconazole
