Got a yeast infection? Not to worry, we are here to help. In fact, a mild vaginal yeast infection may go away without treatment. Check out these easy home remedies for fighting vaginal yeast infections now…

#1 Greek yoghurt

Eating yoghurt helps reduce yeast in the body. But if you don’t like yoghurt, you can rub a small amount around the outside of the vagina to ease irritation or try dipping a tampon in the yoghurt for a few mins, and then insert it. Be sure the yoghurt is without a lot of sugar as the sweetener promotes the growth of the Candida fungus.

#2 Apple cider vinegar

Soaking for 15 mins in a lukewarm bath added with a half cup of apple cider vinegar may help beat vaginal yeast infections. Apple cider vinegar is anti-fungal and helps restore the pH balance of your vagina. Plus, it also increases the growth of healthy bacteria to inhibit yeast production. In fact, consuming apple cider vinegar on an empty stomach by adding a tablespoon to a glass of water can also help a great deal.

#3 Coconut oil

Applying coconut oil directly to the affected area is one the most popular home remedies, as it has anti-fungal properties to fight the infection-causing yeast. You could also consider dipping a clean tampon in coconut oil and insert it. But make sure you use pure, organic coconut oil.

#4 Vitamin C

Try increasing your intake of Vitamin C in your diet to give your body the best chance possible to ward off infections. Include nutrient-rich fruits and vegetables high in Vitamin C – think berries, citrus – or choose a good Vitamin C supplement that can help build up your immune system. Remember to drink plenty of water as it’s a natural diuretic.
