If you do not protect your skin by applying sunscreen everyday, exposure to harmful UV rays trigger the overproduction of melanin and lead to skin pigmentation. Here are several home remedies to remove pigmentation on your face naturally.

(1) Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is rich in acetic acid, which helps to reduce melanin deposits and lighten skin pigmentation.

Ingredients:

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1 tablespoon water

Cotton ball

Instructions:

(1) Mix equal parts apple cider vinegar and water in a bowl.

(2) Dip the cotton ball into the mixture and apply it all over the areas of skin pigmentation and dark spots. Leave it on for 3 minutes.

(3) Rinse it off with lukewarm water.

(4) Repeat the treatment twice a day.

(2) Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is loaded with aloin, which is a natural depigmenting compound to lighten sunspot and skin pigmentation. Aloe vera also can soothe and calm down your skin.

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons pure aloe vera gel

1 tablespoon honey

Instructions:

(1) Mix pure aloe vera gel and honey in a bowl and leave it for 10 minutes.

(2) Apply the mixture over the pigmented areas before going to bed.

(3) Rinse it off with lukewarm water next morning.

(4) Repeat the treatment everyday until your skin pigmentation fades away.

(3) Lemon

Lemon is a natural bleaching agent, which contains skin lightening properties. It also contains antioxidant properties that can protect your skin from harmful UV rays and lighten dark spots effectively. However, lemon juice may cause skin irritation to certain skin types. Remember to do a patch test before using.

Ingredients:

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon honey

Instructions:

(1) Mix the lemon juice and honey in a bowl.

(2) Apply the mixture over the pigmented areas. Leave it for 15 minutes.

(3) Rinse off with lukewarm water.

(4) Repeat the treatment twice a day for further improvement.

(4) Green Tea

Some researches indicate that green tea extracts have a depigmenting effect.

Ingredients:

1 green tea bag

1 cup of boiled water

Instructions:

(1) Steep the green tea bag in a cup of boiled water for 5 minutes.

(2) Remove the green tea bag from the cup and let it cool down. 

(3) Rub the green tea bag over the pigmented areas.

(4) Repeat the treatment twice a day.
