Already accepted that you’ll always have oily skin in pictures? Think again. Having oily skin with makeup can be so frustrating. Here are a bunch of makeup tips and hacks on how you can stay matte and fresh all day long.
#1 Foundation formula is key
Having trouble finding foundation? If you’ve got oily skin, midday shine and a greasy T-zone, look out for formulas that have a mattifying and long wear claim to keep your face shine-free throughout the day. Steer clear from getting cushion compacts with a dewy glow that tend to look oily and shiny instead.
#2 Powder it up
Your forehead has basically become a mirror itself when you catch a glimpse of your reflection in the mirror midday? Setting powders work really well to mattify and absorb oils. Use a large, fluffy brush to lightly dust your whole face after you’re done applying your foundation and concealer. It will help take away shine for hours.
#3 Use a setting spray
Spritzing makeup setting spray helps hold the makeup you’ve used in place all day. Extra hard-working setting spray will be your oily skin’s best friend. A makeup setting spray is an awesome keep-in-your-bag option to spray on throughout the day without needing to pile on extra powder, since layering powder over powder will get cakey. To use, shake the bottle, then close your eyes and spray it on in both an “X” shape and a “T” shape, about eight to ten inches from your face.
#4 Carry blotting papers
Blotting papers are handy skin savers that will help you take care of excess shine as soon as it strikes. Simply press a sheet gently against areas that are particularly oily or shiny of your face, such as T-zone, chin. Hold for a few seconds. Remember to keep a blotting paper pad in your purse and never be caught out with greasy skin again.
