#1 Watermelon + Milk
Full of vitamins, antioxidants and minerals with high water content — watermelon is not just a juicy summer fruit that help us stay healthy and hydrated. It also works wonders on your skin if applied from outside. Meanwhile, milk is also a great moisturiser that is known to heal dry skin cells. Together they can soothe sunburnt, dehydrated skin, giving you a supple and radiant complexion.
Steps:
- Take a small bowl and add half cup of watermelon juice in it.
- Add one tablespoon of milk and mix them well.
- Apply the mask on the face and neck, and let it stay for 20-25 minutes.
- Wash it off with lukewarm water.
#2 Aloe Vera + Yoghurt
Aloe vera mixed with yoghurt is all your skin need after a long day out in the sun. The transparent slimy gel of aloe vera is rich in enzymes, amino acids and Vitamins A, B, C that help hydrate and soothe irritated or sunburnt skin, while fresh, unflavoured yoghurt keeps skin soft. Together they can make your skin soothed, supple and nourished.
Steps:
- Mix about four tablespoons of aloe vera with two tablespoons of plain yoghurt to form a paste in a bowl.
- Apply a thick layer on the face and neck. Let it stay for 20-25 minutes.
- Wash it off with lukewarm water.
#3 Mint + Turmeric
The cooling and anti-inflammatory properties of mint help calm dry skin and control oiliness, while turmeric powder helps fight redness and pimples. Mixing mint paste with turmeric powder can keep your skin fresh and rejuvenated throughout the day.
Steps:
- Take a bunch of washed mint leaves, and grind to a paste.
- Mix it with a spoonful of turmeric powder.
- Apply a thick layer on the face and neck. Let it stay for 10-15 minutes.
- Wash it off with lukewarm water.
#4 Cucumber + Avocado
Cucumber, a delicious and low-calorie summer fruit, is also great for quenching thirsty, flushed skin. The water-rich vegetable contains 95% moisture, antioxidants and anti-inflammatory nutrients. Mixing the water-rich summer fruit and avocado can seal in moisture and soothe inflammation.
Steps:
- Halve an avocado. Using a spoon, scoop out a teaspoon of avocado and place it in a small blender.
- Cut off ¼ of a small cucumber, peel and place it in a small blender.
- Add a tablespoon of water. Blend till mix well.
- Apply the mask on the face and neck, and let the coolness sink into your skin.
- Wait for 20-25 minutes and rinse off.
