Anti-Convulsant Indication: Various types of neuropathic pain in adults: Postherpetic neuralgia (PHN). Painful diabetic neuropathy. Trigeminal neuralgia. Central pain. Complex regional pain syndrome. Epilepsy: As adjunctive therapy in the treatment of partial seizures with and without secondary generalization in adults and children aged 6 years and above. As monotherapy in the treatment of partial seizures with and without secondary generalization in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and above.

Product Usage
EpilepsyAdult childn 12 yr900-3600 mg/day. Start w/ 300 mg tid or by dose titration: Day 1: 300 mg once daily; Day 2: 300 mg bid; Day 3: 300 mg tid. Thereafter increase dose in increments of 300 mg/day for 2-3 days up to max dose of 3600 mg/day.Childn ≥6 yrStarting dose: 10-15 mg/kg/day. Effective dose: 25-35 mg/kg/day up to 50 mg/kg/day in 3 divided doses. Max time interval between doses is not 12 hr.Neuropathic painTitrate dose similar to treatment of epilepsy or start w/ 900 mg/day in 3 divided doses up to a max of 3600 mg/day.Patients w/ impaired renal functionCrCl ≥80 mL/min900-3600 mg/day;50-79 mL/min600-1800 mg/day;30-49 mL/min300-900 mg/day;15-29 mL/min150-600 mg/day (150 mg to be administered as 300 mg every other day);<15 mL/min150-300 mg/day (150 mg to be administered as 300 mg every other day).Undergoing hemodialysis300-400 mg then 200-300 mg following each 4 hr of hemodialysis.May be taken ith or without food.
