Indication/ Uses: Potassium chloride is used to prevent or to treat low levels of potassium.

Potassium chloride is an electrolyte replenisher that occurs as a white, granular powder or as colorless crystals. It is odorless and has saline taste. Its solutions are neutral to litmus. It is freely soluble in water and insoluble in alcohol.

Product Usage

The usual dose for the prevention of hypokalemia is 20 mEq in single or divided dose or as prescribed by the physician. The usual dose for the treatment of potassium depletion is 4-100 mEq or as prescribed by the physician. Dosage should be divided so that no more than 20 mEq is given in a sigle dose.
