Warnings

Chronic renal failure or impaired K excretion eg severe myocardial damage or heart failure. Monitor regularly serum K. Avoid food with high salt content. Determine periodically acid-base balance; other serum electrolyte levels & ECG. Discontinue if hyperkalemia; significant rise in serum creatinine; fall in blood hematocrit or Hb; severe vomiting; abdominal pain or GI bleeding occurs. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.
