Used to control serum Phosphorus in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) on dialysis, hyperphosphatemia in adults receiving hemo- or peritoneal dialysis. Adult CKD patients not on dialysis with serum Phosphorus >1.78 mmol/L.

Should be taken with food: Swallow whole; do not crush/chew/break.

Ingredients

Each tablet contains 800 mg of Sevelamer carbonate

Storage Information

Store at 25°C.

Warnings

Patients with dysphagia; swallowing & severe GI motility disorders including severe constipation or major GIT surgery; contributing co-morbid conditions affecting ability to swallow including oroesophageal abnormalities. Re-evaluate treatment when severe constipation or other severe GI symptoms develop. Consider using powd for oral susp in patients with history of difficulty swallowing. Regularly assess serum vit A; D & E levels & vit K status. Pregnancy. Childn <18 yr. Elderly. Decreased bioavailability of ciprofloxacin. Reduced conc of cyclosporin; mycophenolate mofetil & tacrolimus. Increased TSH levels with levothyroxine. Antiarrhythmic & anti-seizure medications.
