Use in the prevention of thrombotic events (CV death, MI &, stroke) in patients with acute coronary syndromes (ACS) [unstable angina, non-ST elevation MI (NSTEMI) or ST elevation MI (STEMI)] including those managed medically &, with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) or CABG.

Product Usage

May be taken with or without food. For patients w/ swallowing difficulties; crush tab to a fine powd & mix in ½ glass of water. Drink immediately. Rinse glass w/ another ½ glass of water & drink. Mixt may be administered via a nasogastric tube (?CH8). Flush tube w/ water after administration.

Ingredients

Each tablet contains 90 mg of Ticagrelor.

Warnings

Patients with a propensity to bleed; moderate hepatic impairment; increased risk of bradycardic events (eg; patients witho pacemaker with sick sinus syndrome; 2nd- or 3rd-degree AV block or bradycardic-related syncope). Concomitant use of drugs that may increase risk of bleeding (eg; NSAIDS; oral anticoagulants &/or fibrinolytics within 24 hr of ticagrelor); antifibrinolytic therapy (aminocaproic acid; tranexamic acid) &/or recombinant factor VIIa; strong CYP3A4 inhibitors. Patients with history of MI with prior ischaemic stroke for beyond 1 yr. Discontinue use in newithprolonged/worsened dyspnea & 5 days prior to surgery. Not recommended with high maintenance dose of ASA (>300 mg). Avoid premature discontinuation of treatment. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery (only in patients with ACS). Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <18 yr. Side effects: Blood disorder bleedings; hyperuricemia; gout; dyspnea; resp system bleedings; dizziness; syncope; vertigo; hypotension; diarrhea; GI hemorrhage; nausea; subcutaneous or dermal bleeding; pruritus; urinary tract bleeding; increased blood creatinine; post-procedural hemorrhage; traumatic bleedings.
